Many of you knew my friend Richard Swirsky . When he was a community organizer working with the Rubber Workers in Akron, he wrote a sort of rally chant about their struggles. Before he passed, he asked me if I'd help him turn it into a song. I was able to do that and record an acoustic version for him (thanks to Jim Ballard and his recording help), which he got to hear and enjoyed. Nearly a year has passed, and on this father's day, it seemed fitting to fully produce the song and put it out into the world. So, I created two versions - a funky one, and one more rocking, like he envisioned. Together with the original acoustic version, and my cover of one of Rich's favorite songs, is the Rich EP.
